If a student ever wants to see a city that is vibrant and full of life, they need look no further. The city of Toronto is teeming with trendy cafes, classic boutiques, restaurants that offer food from all over the world, modern movie theatres, historic art galleries and museums. Toronto is home to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Football Club and Toronto Argonauts. Toronto has the world’s third largest theatre district and is home to the tallest free standing building, the CN Tower. In addition to all the greatness Toronto has to offer it is also located along the shore of one of the five Great Lakes in North America, the beautiful Lake Ontario.

From historical sites to the great outdoors, and everything in between, Toronto has so much to offer. While diverse and lively, Toronto is ranked as one of the safest and cleanest cities in North America by Fortune Magazine. Along with being safe and clean Toronto, Canada is also by the United Nations as one of the best cities in which to live in and work in. Toronto is also within a short distance via bus or train from major cities in North America such as Niagara, New York, Boston, Montreal and Canada’s capital Ottawa.

Cornerstone Academic College is located in the heart of downtown Toronto and near to Toronto’s financial district. Cornerstone is surrounded by fashionable boutiques and trendy shops and minutes away from major attractions such as the Royal Ontario Museum, CN Tower and the Eaton Centre allowing the students to explore all that Toronto has to offer. In addition, Cornerstone is conveniently accessible via the Bay Street subway without having to step outside onto the city streets.

Toronto offers great theatre, music, literature, sports and outdoor recreational activities for the adventurous at heart. The students are escorted on field trips to Toronto's museums, historical sites and universities and he or she learns to discuss what they have experienced with fellow students and teachers. Through these and many other activities, students will be able to improve their English communication skills outside of the class with their fellow students and friends. Once the students experience what Toronto has to offer, their adventure will be very rewarding and unforgettable.

Open Conversation

Cornerstone Academic College offers a free Open Conversation class every Monday and Wednesday from 16:00 17:00 in our school cafeteria. This conversation club allows the students to speak English in a relaxed setting about hot topics in the news, different cultures and traditions, sports, entertainment and so much more. There is no specific English level required, allowing students from all levels to join, practice and enjoy the experience!

Open Tutor

Cornerstone Academic College also offers a free Open Tutor class every Thursday from 16:00 17:00 in our Lambda class. Students get extra materials and are able to ask a qualified Cornerstone ESL teacher any questions he or she may have. Students who join the Open Tutor session occasionally form study groups to enhance their educational experience.

Thanksgiving Party (October)

Every year, Cornerstone organizes a Thanksgiving potluck lunch party in our cafeteria. A traditional roasted turkey, stuffing and all the fixings are provided for the students along with a variety of ethnic dishes that students bring representing their home country. This event allows students to interact with everyone while enjoying great food from all over the world as well as experience a traditional Canadian Thanksgiving.
